Johnson City and Jonesborough host some of the regions most unique and festive events.

The Blue Plum Art & Music Festival is held the first weekend each June in Blue Plum Village (downtown Johnson City). This Free, outdoor festival includes music, arts & crafts, food, children's area, family entertainment, 5k run, animation festival and more!

Umoja/Unity Festival is the region's leading celebration of ethnic diversity and the universal love of life. It was established to eliminate the barriers of race and cultures. Each year another culture is emphasized by storytelling. This is done in conjuction with the ETSU Storytelling Dept.

The National Storytelling Festival is hosted each October in Jonesborough. The festival, now in its 35th year and acclaimed as one of the Top 100 Events in North America, sparked a renaissance of storytelling across the country.

Each year Johnson City hosts an annual Turkey Trot 5K Race & Family Fitness Walk. Join over 2,500 runners, walkers, strollers and dogs for this annual event Thanksgiving Day morning in Downtown Johnson City. Race begins at 8:30 a.m. at theLegion Street Recreation Center.
